in most cases yes, however if the doton is at an S-rank and the lightning is at .. a B-rank i dont think it would be capable of overpowering the S-rank doton.

never really thought about this, but i would think so. it makes sense for an earth jutsu to be weaker with soft earth and stronger with solid earth. idk, let's ask when shinta sama is back >.>

Not that I know of. But there needs to be Earth for an Earth Jutsu. I think.
