Mokuton like that is sprouted from the body, which happens by converting Hashirama's cells into Mokuton. The more of his cells you have the more Mokuton that can be sprouted from the body. That's why Danzo's Mokuton only came from his arm. So being covered in Zetsu (Hashirama cells) gives him an advantage in the Mokuton department that he doesn't have w/o Zetsu.

kakashi may be top tier shinobi, But Mokuton that Obito displayed will for sure give kakashi a run for his money.

Obito has been trying to conserve chakra throughout the war to control the Juubi, Even at the fight between Gai,kakashi,Bee and naruto. If he was going all out, He would of used more Mokuton.
