Izanagi + Reaper Death Seal...?

Anyone have any idea/theory as to if Izanagi can be used to cheat the reaper death seal? For example, if the user hit someone with the technique, ripped out their soul, etc., and then used Izanagi when they should have died? Makes me curious, since, if this was possible, Danzo could have become the most powerful shinobi of all time.

Although Hiruzen had to grab hold of Orochimaru and the Edos when he used it, Minato used the technique from a range to target Kurama...it may relate to how much chakra the user has, their mastery over it, or some other factor.

So, what if Danzo mastered the ranged version of the RDS? He could launch the arm out, rip out anyone's soul he wanted, then just Izanagi out?

Answer this for me: If Itachi were to use Totsuka on Danzo, and he got sealed, would he be able to escape?

I'll give my answer. There's no harm being done to the physical body, their soul is being sealed. Thus, Izanagi does nothing. Izanagi is useless against genjutsu too, thats how I came up with my answer.

That's what I was wondering. Its just that Izanagi erases the boundaries of reality, and makes it so that the user doesn't really exist for that moment...but does it only bend reality around the physical aspects?

Inzanagi is useless as The reaper does not attack the body but the soul thats why its a 1 time cast jutsu.

Wow, excellent train of thought going here. I'm surprised there aren't more people posting in this thread...

However, sacrificing his own soul might cut the Izanagi off. It's one thing to die from injuries and it's another thing to sacrifice one's soul to the Death Reaper and come back from that.
