A woman who cut off her husband's penis and threw it in a rubbish bin has been sentenced to life in prison.
Catherine Kieu laced her 60-year-old victim's tofu with sleeping pills and yelled "You deserve it!" before attacking him with a 10-inch knife.
The 50-year-old was jealous about her husband's plans to divorce her because he was seeing his ex-girlfriend.
She was convicted of torture and aggravated mayhem and sentenced today for the attack in July 2011. She can seek parole in seven years.
Her lawyer argued that she had mental health problems stemming from childhood molestation and sexual abuse by her husband.
During the trial, the victim testified that his penis could not be reattached and that he felt as though he had been murdered.
