are you promoting your fave band or something
Actually, it's just that song from them that stands out to me. It's her voice and the energy of that song that draw me to it. She's got a nice voice - but she's more subdued in a lot of the other songs she sings - and she's got an awesome punctuation to her belt.
I have two "favorite" bands. After Forever and Nightwish. After Forever had an absolutely amazing vocalist; Floor Jansen. Nightwish has always had a relatively interesting instrumental score and has always had a female vocalist. When I was over in the UAE - I ran into After Forvever under the Zune recommended albums. After hearing Floor - I said: "Man, now I have to wonder what Nightwish would sound like with her as their vocalist."
No sooner than I get back from that deployment, and I find this:

This is a song they've not been able to properly perform live ever since their first vocalist left. Nothing against Annette - she just didn't have the vocal cords for operatic singing.
Floor, however, is a ****ing goddess. She joined up with them
mid-tour with
12 hours' notice. That was in October - and this was from November or December. She's not even completely settled with the songs - and, in my personal opinion, she sings them better than Tarja (the original vocalist)... because she can more properly put emotion into her lungs.
She also fits in much better with the rock/metal vocalist crowd. She loves performing live and can work a crowd (which is something Nightwish has always been a little weak in).
Yeah - I've got something of a fan-crush.
You'll see why starting around the 9:00 mark. Actually - the song really matures around the 6:00 mark and Floor is delivering an excellent performance at that point.

There could never be enough zombies to kill with a warrior chick at my side to that song.

That's one of my favorite songs from After Forever. There will be an obligatory NaruHina AMV made to that one.
Though I also have a soft spot for Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, and some of the 'classics' (what I 'grew up' washing dishes to in the back of the pub) from Mushroom Head, Megadeth, and a bunch of others that the guys played and I never paid attention to the album/artist.
Recently, I've picked up a liking for Eizenfunk, XRX, Opeth, and some other quirky bands that are largely unknown in the States.
Though I also like to put on some good ol' Two Steps From Hell and other instrumental compositions used for games, movies, etc. I spend hours listening, sometimes, to find the right 'theme' for a segment I want to put into my fanfiction. Such as I have a re-structured 4th Ninja war arc - and I have a sequence where Hiashi and the edo Madara end up facing off... and I ran into "For the Win" within the Skyworld album from Two Steps From Hell - which is what I envision being the music playing during that scene.
I can ramble a long time about how awesome I find music. Which can sound a little odd - given my generally conservative and physics/engineering mindset.
is that u on your avatar?
That it is.
you're cute

send me nudes pls.....
My, that's forward.
I appreciate the complement, but I don't just go handing out provocative pictures of myself. Not that I've ever had much of a talent for making myself look appealing in photographs. Most of the time, I look absolutely clueless or like I'm about to steal the cameraman's soul (like my first military ID photo... we'd been standing in line for over an hour, and I'd had to pee since about an hour before that. I was not, in the slightest, amused in my photograph.
But this has absolutely nothing to do with the topic... other than Floor Jansen is better than ga-ga... and probably wouldn't be silly enough to think altering her national anthem ad-hoc to support a political agenda was a good idea. It's been a big post about me and what I like, though. So I suppose it's par for the course.
