Itachi the HERO?!?!

I'm sure we all know the story of Itachi by now, and how he killed all his clan members and left HIS BROTHER Sasuke alive.. Now i'm not disputing that it was a difficult decision to make and ultimately he put the village first before his clan. But am i the only one who thinks this isn't as Heroic as it seems?.

People have tried to claim how Itachi is a hero of some sort, but if you really look at it, you would perhaps notice that Itachi was actually the whole time being selfish?.. If he didn't have a younger brother, he would have joined in the Coup also?

I think we forget that Itachi actually killed other people's Fathers, other people's Mothers, he killed someone else's Sister and Brother?.. He even killed innocent kids who knew nothing about the war??... Sasuke was NOT the only child among the Uchiha at that time. But it didn't matter as long as it wasn't Itachi's brother??


So is he as much of a hero as people think?.. What are your thoughts guys?

He would not have joined the coup if sasuke wasn't alive. Since itachi witnessed war, he became a pacifist, and would do anything to prevent war. In fact, if sasuke wasn't alive, Konoha would be the thing Itachi loves most.

Omg i find it hilarious that people still dont understand the story of itachi uchiha. Is it really that difficult for you to understand? There is a reason why he is so many peoples favorite character, he is probably even one of kishimotos favorite characters. He is a hero. Either way the uchiha clan was going to be wiped out, itachi did it so he can atleast save one life, his brother that he loved. He also loved the leaf villiage and protected it within the shadows with no recognition. He sacrificed his life and potential to be seen as some s - rank criminal.

Exactly this. As sometimes you need to sacrifice small pieces in chess to win the game. Let me put at it this way what would you do save 10 children under a collapsing building or would you save 1 child about to get run over by a car. that would have led the rest of the uchiha to realize madara was right and rise up as well. it was either all of them or let the war start way premature. he cared waqy too much about sasuke to let him get wiped out.

he did it because it needed to be done. but danzo made a deal with him that he would let sasuke live! itachi woulda had to do his deal anyways but his one condition was that sasuke be left alone.
