AH so GT was a filler.

It's a filler, doesn't really matter. There's a short fan made series picks up after GT called Dragon Ball AF that gives an interpretation of what happened after GT.

He fuked off with shenron, to some unknown places, which we obviously dont know or cant tell. I don't know wether the movie heroes legacy was canonly attached to GT, but goku did appear quite a few times in that movie. Which was years after the DB GT storyline and pan was old.
