The sole reason naruto got kurama was so he could fight the "masked man" well looks like that was kakashi's destiny. In fact if kakashi wasnt there the moon eye plan would already been achieved. I believe it should have been Naruto who defeated obito not kakashi

At the time Minato had no idea who the masked man was. He didn't know that it was Obito and that Obito was basically be used/influenced by someone else. Plus, the Great Toad Elder's prophecy was "young man with strong eyes" not "masked man." That all said, I think Naruto is slowly starting to fulfill the prophecy.
