Well, Itachi's death has been questioned by all of us readers, but the most logical was it was linked to his Sharingan that weakened him and he caught a disease (not aids, there was name for it), and the continued use of the Sharingan and the illness not being cured finally killed him. I think he had a heart attack based on the images in his final fight with Sasuke.
