Because Obito was seriously wounded, he was a liability. If he died before the ritual, Rinne Tensei would be for naught. He had to do that ASAP, despite his wanting to fight Hashirama for real.

I don't think it's because he needed to be weakened. Madara doesn't necessarily know that Obito was wounded at all, considering he went into the Kamui dimension in fine shape.

Rather, it's likely that Madara just didn't feel the need to sacrifice a powerful ally yet to become the jinchuuriki. Remember, the purpose of him becoming the Juubi Junchuuriki is to initiate the infinite tsukuyomi - not to defeat the alliance. Having Obito at his side and the Juubi under their control should have been more than enough to defeat the shinobi alliance, and THEN have him become jinchuuriki and initiate the infinite tsukuyomi.

Madara made Zetsu, 50% of Obito is made of Zetsu = Not very far-fetched to think that he could control him=D
