[Predictions] Kakashi: Reaper Death Seal

Think about it...who have we seen use technique? We saw Hiruzen use the technique on Orochimaru way back in Part 1. We've also seen Minato use it to seal part of Kurama away. Minato had to learn the technique from someone. Considering he had Jiraiya as a teacher, and Hiruzen taught Jiraiya, it may not be unreasonable to assume Jiraiya possessed knowledge on the technique. This means that there's a sort of teacher-student descent of the ability. Now, since Minato taught Kakashi, he may have imparted some of that information at one point or another.

Kakashi was impaled by Obito's weapon, and it appears that Kakashi impaled Obito with Raikiri.

However, since we've missed a portion of their fight, Kakashi may have begun the sealing technique at some point. Technically, the technique is only visible to whomever is using it/being targeted by it, so Kishi may have kept it out of the panel to hide it, and Kakashi's Raikiri may have just been a diversion of some sort to distract Obito from the actual sealing...

I wouldn't mind that as an end to their fight. Kakashi sealing both of them away, while they mutter some sort of last words to each other, and Obito Kamuis them back at the last second so that they die on the battlefield with the others.

Yeah, I feel like that's a good possibility as well. Even so, he could have told Kakashi about it, considering he was some prodigy 12 year old Jounin..

That's quite the possibility... DRS is an Uzumaki Sealing Technique. Minato had to learn it from Kushina.

People, you must remember that Jirayia learned Rasengan from Minato, not the other way. A teacher will not be the only person to teach things to students.

Doubtful, the few times we have seen the Death Reaper Seal the castor is more concerned with grabbing or immobilizing the target rather than inflicting damage. The castor is not concerned with his own safety because he knows his is going to die, but why would Kakashi bother with wasting his strength/chakra forming the Raikiri when all his has to do is grab ahold of him as he is being stabbed.

Also, the other times that the Death Reaper Seal has been cast, the castor did not use ninjutsu during the attempt to capture the target. It could be because he is unable to do so while it is cast.

I know where you are talking about, and you are misinterpreting it. It's Chapter 124, around page 4. Hiruzen said its the Jutsu of the hero that saved the village. He didn't flat out say that he created it. He just attributes it to him because it was the first time he ever saw it and knew that it was a noble jutsu because its the ultimate sacrafice.

How could Minato create the technique that seals your soul, create a mask to see the Death Reaper, and survive to use it after he created it?
