The VIZ scan actually implies KCM Naruto = Itachi > Kisame

The pronoun "him" was clearly shown to be Naruto, and 'he' was guarded by a Sannin.

It was later shown that Kisame didn't know what to expect from the Nine Tails Jinchūriki‎.

So they were asumming that Naruto was at a KCM level of control.

And you can see two things when they leave.

First, Kisame didn't think Itachi needed to retreat from Jiraiya (despite telling Itachi not use his Mangekyō anymore earlier.)

Secondly, Itachi says it was because of them confirming Naruto's level.

This solidifies that the subject in the fist scan was about Naruto, whose power hadn't been surmised.

(Itachi knew, but pretended not to because he didn't want to capture Kurama for Akatsuki.)

And lastly. Just look at this scan. Is this something someone would do if they were scared shitless of Jiraiya?

Turn their back on him and beat the shit out of an innocent kid? And use Tsukuyomi on him unnecessarily?

No, because they were concerned about stalemating Kurama's Jinchūriki, not Jiraiya,‎ in the first scan.

More proof? All of Akatsuki knew that Itachi kicked Orochimaru out of the organization seven years prior.

Without any injuries, etc. to boot.

So it wouldn't make any sense for Kisame to assume that a Sannin would be tough for Itachi.

Don't forget, Naruto used clones by that stage and Kishi was injecting humor into his character in that fight quite a bit.

Not to mention we all know itachi would come back to the village every once in awhile to make sure danzo didn't kill sasuke so it should go without saying that itachi would have known if a 12 year old naruto had already mastered his jinchuuriki forms.

Naruto used tooouch Kyubi's chakra while training and he created somany KCM clone's and he didn't fight Itachi to defeat him but to talk with him.......in fact Nagato fought marely a clone level Naruto......and Itachi said that U could stop EMS Sasuke as ur now that is applicable for both physically and emotionally..........

Yes ur right ,Naruto lack's experience to beat Itachi even though Naruto is too OP,but we should also consider that Naruto used toomuch chakra for his training as wel as he created somany clones which eventually decreases his strength in propotion to the no of clone's .....actually Nagato fought Original Naruto who's strength is same as that of his clone in KCM

We can't say Itachi is strong just bcoz he defeated Orochimaru......both time's Oro completly let his guard down it is a big mistake while fighting some like Itachi and also Jiraya never fought Oro with the intent of killing him or defeating him ,he just barely tried to bring him back to village...I can't see Itachi being able to beat 4 of pains but we can't say Jiraya is stronge just bcoz of that ..........ABC logic wont work in NV
