There is some observations I want to discuss...
"Looking for stability, one God was divided into Yin and Yang."
This message could be interpreted in more than one way. One is about his two sons, and that's what people tends to be talking about... but that interpretation has a flaw: He is talking about the god that was divided, but the sage was human. In other words, he is not talking about the sons he created, he is talking about the tailed beasts that once were part of a superior entity, a god, called Juubi.
Why can I interpret the tablet in this way? Well, long time ago the Fourth Hokage divided Kurama into Yin and Yang, it was part of the jutsu used by the Sage, it was the stage of segregation. This means every tailed beast has a part Yin and another part that is Yang. The jutsu used by the sage, "Creation of All things", is a Yin Yang Release jutsu, that uses both yin and yang parts to form living things (yang) from nothingness (yin). In order to create the tailed beasts, the Sage had to divide the Juubi into yin and yang, and after that, he had to create the beasts using that Yin and Yang energy again. In order to achieve the process of manipulating so much energy, he sacrificed lifespan.
Think about it carefully. Time after the beasts were divided by the Sage of the Six paths, Hashirama Senju gave some of these beasts to other villages so they could achieve peace, because of the "balance" or "stability" of power.

The possibility of the tablet referring the sons is still there, but with that flaw in mind I believe that in order to achieve peace it's not that Sasuke and Naruto have to cooperate, but reuniting the bijuus again to guide them in the right path is the way to achieve peace. Even the Sage couldn't destroy them, he could only "transform" them.
The reason of the sage to divide the Juubi was to guide the whole beast in the right path, and now almost every beast put their trust in Naruto hoping that he could guide them in the right path. In the end, I believe these consciousness have to return to its original form.
// Another thing... I'm starting to believe that the current Juubi is the Yang part (body, resistance, power) of the original Juubi, and Naruto is reuniting his Yin half (mind, consciousness, love).
