By non canon I mean the ending of the anime is entirely different and does not follow according to the storyline....made up, to be precise

I'll be honest, It's not for everyone. But I actually thoroughly enjoyed the anime. I never read the manga, and I probably never will, but I know the ending to the manga and I prefer the anime ending myself. Overall it's a great anime, but it may be an acquired taste for some.

Elfen Lied is only worth watching if you like nudity, extreme violence and/or a combination of bothit. As already said it has 13 episodes.Anime is not and won't be completed Imo.

Anime is great, even though it is short it has decent character development of the 2 main characters. There are some really pointless characters though.

If you've ever seen the show Chobits, Elfen Lied is basically that with lots of blood, death, and partial nudity.

It also had a weird incest undertone that I never quite understood.
