Known well, even more than the Senju and Uzumaki but they were supposedly third ranked because "if" and that's a BIG "IF" the S06P descend from the uzumaki that puts the Senju second and the Uchiha's third. But Hashi cheated and used chakra so I think Madara > Hashi (human and edo).

The powers of the Senju and Uchiha come from the Juubi for the Uchiha and Senju Ancestors are literally the Yin and Yang of the Jūbi, created with the Creation of All Things Jutsu like the Bijūs, the Uzumaki is Rikūdo's human heritage which doesn't have the Jūbi's essence in them, the Uzumakis then are Pre-Jinchūriki Rikūdo without the Rinnegan nor the Jūbi's power.

The Rinnegan and the Mokuton, along with the Sharingan are all powers deriving from the Juubi, the Rikudou Sennin acquired the Juubi's powers when he became its' Jinchuuriki, prior to that he was an Uzumaki.

I still can't fully agree the sage being Uzumaki. If that's the case, there is a lot of Uzumaki skills that weren't taught to the Uchiha/Senju clan... kinda absurd. My bet is the Sage being an ancestor of the Uzumaki/Senju clans.

Well, tbh, the Senju and Uchiha Ancestors were creations like the Bijūs from the Jūbi's essence, the Uzumaki is Rikūdo's Human Heritage before becoming the Jūbi's Jin, the Elder and Younger Sons' conception was not biological but mystical.
