I don't think we can count Kabuto out juuuuust yet. I think he'll make a re-appearance before the series ends whether it makes an impact to the plot or not.

He'll get out of the Izanami a changed Kabuto without the intentions he wanted as before. So think about it, will the man coming out of the Izanami be Kabuto or a different character? Sounds dead to me.

edo nagato, he the only edo to come back crippled, and to top it off he needed to absorb chakra to be at full strength, it's so obvious that in order to not derail the plot, Kishi kept him handicapped, without a doubt his death to me feels the most cheap, kishi shouldn't make his villains so powerful if he has to pull crap like that just to stop them, and even though he's not really dead, I wanna give a special shout out to kabutomaru, izanami is without a doubt the single greatest ass pull ever witnessed from this or any other manga.
