From my recent theory there i discussed about madara & Uzushiogakure so I hope you enjoy 
Theory:
So we know that madara tried to reason with iwegakure to allie with him but then Mū disagreed and fought him but failed.......I don't know. If this is after or before but madara EM Sharingan could have been the 1st hint because at that time kurama was still roaming. Free and even by that time hashirama and madara fought and madara plan was inmotion by the fact he obtained the rinnegan so he went back to the tablet to read it all!
Madara found out about the sages past though the rinnegan because.........
Madara reads a "historical" event and needs to hurry and plan ahead so madara needs to
1. Unseal the juubi from the moon prison but problem is he needs a uzumaki
2. He makes kurama be seal into a low scroll and while they are asleep break that seal so kurama could destory them
3. He waits and uses a uzumaki to unseal the gedo mazou (he couldn't use kushina or mito because of his timeplases)
4. Transplant his eyes into a surviving & hatred filled uzumaki (nagato)
Theory 2: Mu and ionki dissagrees to help madara he goes back to the shrine with hashirama as he reads he needs the rinnegan to fully read it and so as madara plan worked to obtain Senju DNA
Madara knows of how to obtain the "shell" but needs to wipe out a major help but also down fall to his plan by destruction of the uzumaki clan by using his new dojustu "the rinnegan" he uses

He then controls the 3 headed dog to frame the unknown beast by using a already. Broken scroll and while also even wiping the members there and
