Ehh, Orochimaru just hasn't been drawn with his characteristic sinister look in awhile. He's drawn the same, for the most part. It just seems like he isn't because we've almost always only seem him with that malicious look on his face, or glint in his eyes.

It's not just Orochimaru but everyone. As Naruto progressed, so did Kishi's drawings.
In the beginning, Kishi's artwork wasn't as good as it is now. It's nothing to worry about and something you should dismiss.
Orochimaru looks the same, the difference is the angle of the picture you presented. How are we suppose to tell the difference when one of them is a face close up and the other a picture that highlights his jaw and cheekbone? ._.
