Guide

Introduction:
In my time on the base in the versus section I have debated in many threads, and seen many peoples opinions on who wins certain match-ups. Though, Unlike my home forum, some of the members here have a hard time determining at what "Diff" a character wins a match-up. "Diff" or Difficulty being the termed used to describe how much effort the winning character has to put in to win the match.

Too many times have people described a match as a "Stomp", and this goes for almost all "Diffs". So, I've done my best to create a short, understanable guide to go by when it comes to "Diff", I will go through all of the common "Diffs" and even give examples.

___________________________________________________

Stages of Win Difficulty:

Stomp "Diff": A stomp diff implied, in a sense, that the opponent was utterly defeated. Sometimes in a humiliating or comical way. Usually the "Fight" cannot be called such since one character was beatin so badly that they were toyed with or could not even engage the other in combat.

A good example of a "Stomp" is Kakashi beating Naruto in the bell test.

Low Diff: Low Diff is the hardest to spot. Low Diff implies that the winner had to atively engage the opponent in combat but still won without straining themselfs in any such way.

A good example of a low diff win is Dosu beating Choji in the 3rd Exam peliminaries.

Mid Diff:Mid Diff dicatates that the winner of the match had to try to win. They didn't push themselfs to the limit or use their strongest attacks or abilities, though the loser kept them actively engaged in the fight. Though their attacks were countered, their win was still soundly secure.

A good example of a Mid Diff win is Sasuke beating Gaara (Pre-Shukaku release)

High Diff: High Diff dicates that the winner had to try their hardest to win the fight. Their best abilities were used and they went all out. sometimes the fight could have went the other way and the winner would have lost in this scenario, though the winner can be regared in most match-ups as being somewhat stronger than the loser, even when an argument could still be made for the loser winning. The winner of a high diff fight usaully cannot go on fighting or almost out of stamina after is all said an done.

A good example of a High Diff win is Sasuke beating Deidara

Extreme Diff: Extreme diff is the opposite of a stomp. The winner of an extreme diff fight usually is on the verge of death or cannot so much as stand when the fight is over

A good example of an extreme diff win is Neji beating Kidomaro

Neg diff is just what I considered people trying to overemphesize "Stomp". Though most serious debaters almost never use Neg diff or anything over dramatic.

Should be sticky, awesome at summarizing the difference between difficulties, all around great thread. Just thinking, in the case of high and extreme difficulties, shouldnt it be mentioned both teams could win, just a slim chance in the favor of one?

Extreme diff is when either side could win, they're nigh equals. Thats why one side would usually win at near death.

High Diff is when one side has a small advantage that puts them, sometimes ever so slighty above the other party.
