Jiraiya knew Naruto was Minato's son, right?

He knew it. Why wasn't he there for Naruto in his first years? Why after 13 years?

Kishi forgot about it, or... plot?


Maybe I am missing something, that's why I ask. I really like Jiraiya, he was an amazing character and one of my favorites, but still I am wondering about this...

Of course he did, after all he was his Godfather. I don't know why he didn't help raise him though, maybe to keep Naruto's identity as the Hokage's son a secret? (Just the first thing that came to mind)

I merely answered it but simply chose not to answer the other questions because it was kishis doing and also due to plot why jiraiya hadnt come to narutos aid sooner.

either kishi didnt develop the character properly until later on, or kishi only introduced the character when he was ready for naruto to learn the truth about minato which was why jiraiya (who happened to be minatos sensei) was the one to teach naruto the rasengan (minatos jutsu).

narutos real development (sage and kyuubi control, as well as knowledge of minato) started from there. before that his true identity had been protected.

ofc jiriya knew, he looks like minato and his name was naruto after his book, anyways j-man was to busy spying on akat and orochimaru and other things he knew naruto would be protected by the 3rd

He knew when he 1st met naruto. You know when naruto try to mold chakra j mam knew kyuubi inside cos of seal so of course he knows.
