Do you think that when Naruto fans mention Naruto

Do you think that when Naruto fans mention Naruto, are they usually referring to the character himself or the series or both? I was just wondering because it can get confusing unless you say something like "Naruto Uzumaki" or "Naruto himself".

People usually refer to the series as "the manga" or "the anime" or "this series" or "the Narutoverse".

Just about every mention of "Naruto" is referring to the character in the manga (cwatididthar?).
