Well, I did answer your question. One thing is saying that they are canon because they held hand for two seconds, one other thing is saying that he holding Hinata's hand is the same as him giving the high five to some unknown shinobi to pass chakra. I think both descriptions are extreme and partial. Naruto cares about her, that much is certain, and held her hand because he does.

Thing is, not everything is about pairings. In fact, only pairings are about pairings and the one dictating the pairings will be Kishimoto whenever he feels like it. Power level has nothing to do with pairings (Hinata could marry Naruto and live happily ever after but she'd still be weaker than Sakura), personality has little to do with pairings (I could like Hinata as a character but that doesn't necessarily mean Naruto has to end with her) and mutual affection has once again little to do with pairings - but Naruto doesn't think of Hinata as he thinks of Ino or Tenten or Temari, that is pretty clear just as it is clear that he doesn't think of her as Sakura.

About your second point, I kind of agree that the scene would have been better if Kishi wrote Hinata focused only on Neji in that particular moment, just like I think it would have been a smarter move to depict more interaction between her, Kiba and Shino without Naruto being the center of every damn thought she ever has. I blame it equally on her obsession and on Kishi's writing of women which isn't always excellent. I still don't think she doesn't care about Neji.

I'm not saying it was like a simple high five. He was acknowledging her for being there for him and giving him the speech and risking her life, but the fact that you need to hold or touch hands to pass chakra dulls down the moment alot because would he have even held her hand if he didn't need to give her chakra? Probably not, because he wouldn't have a reason to. He let go of it straight after he gave her the chakra.

But why couldn't she had 1 panel of Naruto-kun and then the rest about Neji and her thinking about his sacrifice and her not letting his death go to waste or w/e; and powering up like that? I would of had alot more respect for her character. I sick of the Naruto-kun this, Naruto-kun that, Naruto-kuns hand..

Because it was about the technique. Why would she bring up Neji's sacrifice again if it was already done? Nearly everything in chapter 615 was about Hinata explaining to Naruto what Neji's sacrifice meant.

The answer is still the same; because he taught her the 64 palms but it was Naruto who's always been the one to give her the courage.

It's that simple.

@bold; The Naruto-kun thing gets repeated all the damn time, That's what her entire development is based upon. I would of loved her to bring up Neji's death again, instead, for change.

I know Naruto encourages her, so 1 or 2 panels of him would of sufficed.

But pal, you're assuming patterns based on signals and not in actions that flows from a character personality. You know that Uzumaki Naruto is straightforward and the only proof you could take from him are his words.

He didn't say that he loves Hinata. Until then you can't say it's a proof (Unless Naruto blushed, or Naruto try to do something pervert, or kiss her). That's Uzumaki Naruto, not only taking hands... Naruto is not that cheesy :S.

Well chatte is a super fangirl about Sakura but yeah she is good at researching proofs from the manga, However when she is talking about sakura, nobody beats her. She is a complete badass looking for proofs for her. Like her character developtment and other stuffs.
