Comparing naruto and sasuke to jiraiya and orochimaru (how strong have they got)

I feel the parallels between the sannins and naruto and sasuke does not do them justice, they have a REALLY different set of moves to the original sannins and with much more power. their strength now is not comparable and their method of fighting also is not even similar .so yeah I don't get the parallel being hinted at apart from their ability to summon the same animals and that feels kinda forced.


Ps Sakura's parallel is 100% justified because she uses the same style of fighting, identical power to tsunade and the summon of katsyu works in the general context of her powers.

Jiraiya could not handle pain because of no intel. Naruto did because he had full intel on pain. Jiraiya is still better than Naruto

i think the point is that they are the students of the three ninja that greatly efeected naruto as a whole example...orochi,had he's hands in everything! he is the reason we have a good hand full of of chara. jayria...teacher of nagato, 4th hokage, two that could've easily been call savior of this world if naruto wasnt around, and the 5th hokage...is the 5th hokage period, SO i dont see what your talking about?

If that's the reason why they are making this panel , they should have gone the route of Sakura and say something like..' It's because of you sensei I have got this far' instead of making direct comparison with summons that they have no use for and doesn't really gel with their abilities. Snake will get in the way of sasuje and gama will get in the way of naruto but Katsyu =perfect for Sakura's role.

You're forgetting key points:
#1. Jiraiya knew nothing about Pein, and the key to beating Pein is knowing his secret(s).
#2. Naruto walked into that fight knowing almost everything about Pein, and Pein was handicapped (Deva).
#3. Jiraiya beat 3 Peins easily once he figured out their abilities, and even with one arm and almost no jutsus Pein had a hard time trying to kill him until Jiraiya stopped using Sage Mode. Pein even said that Jiraiya could have won if he knew his secret.
#4. Naruto sort-of lost to Pein, then Nagato committed suicide.

Your Sasuke example is also omitting details:
#1. It was a dying Orochimaru without arms, he only had his snake-based abilities and body mods. Orochimaru also wasn't trying to kill and could had killed Sasuke once he poisoned Sasuke.
#2. Karin suggested that Hebi Sasuke was weaker than Orochimaru, and Sasuke said that he only beat Orochimaru because he was weakened.
#3. When Orochimaru was brought back, he has been deemed a threat to EMS Sasuke now that he has arms again.

They are parallels to the Sannin, not mirrors.

If the comparison was made back then when it was just SM for naruto and Hebi for sasuke, it would make sense but now they are just to far away in personality, ability and outlook.

It was never Naruto vs Pein. It was always Konoha vs Pein, and without Hinata attempting to protect Naruto Konoha would have lost. Even Minato got involved.
