fate of sannin's titile

Going over older chapters, it occured that at one point the sannin were almost extinct.

-Orochimaru was sealed
-Jiraiya died
-Leaving Tsunade the sole survivor to the sannin legacy.

But thanks to Kishi's epic trolling Oro is now back in the picture, however it appears that he might be the last sannin this time round seeing as Tsunade is currently bisected.


As we all know, Team 7(Naruto, Sasuke & Sakura) are technically the sannin 2nd generation.

The question is, do you all think the sannin titles can he inherited from their masters? OR Is the title is exclusive to Jiraiya, Orochimaru & Tsunade only?

^I brought up this question because Konoha's sannin titles holds some form of importance just like the Kiri's seven ninja swordsmen.

Seeing as the swordsmen are succeeded with each new generation, I thought to myself, can Konoha do the same with the sannin?


Kishi has shown that Naruto, Sasuke & Sakura have foreshadowed they're masters Jiraiya, Orochimaru & Tsunade.
Team 7 is basically a reincarnation of the sannin.

So do you think Kishi may add to the manga's plot by allowing the titles to be passed on or he'll just leave things where they are.

eventhough i get what you mean. It could be exclusive although I doubt that Sasuke would ever get that title so that actually means that in OUR eyes they are, but to the village they will never be since Sasuke is portraid as a villain.

That's how happy endings are. Sometimes they are good when you don't see them coming, but I think this board has analysed everything to death and so much predicted has already come true, that this will be no surprise.

after team 7 action in battle they would be definitely called sannins.since they are the disciples of the previous sannins its obvious the title would be passed on to them.

They will not be Sannin. Sannin is not a ninja rank but a Title given especially to Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Saying that Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura will be Sannin is like passing down the title Team 7 to Konohamaru and his team. If anything, Team 7 will be given their own special title. It'll be a transition like Team Minato to Team 7 (Team Minato and Team 7 are always being compared but don't have the same given title).
