Mokuton gets absorbed only when preta is active, Hashi can easily open the fight with BoD, ruining nagato's ability to use his eyes to see, the summons linked vision would be useless.

Multiple mokuton bunshins would disrupt nagato's sensing ability as well, so he has no idea where hashi will attack from. & he has no way to tell which one is the original because only Madara's MS can do that.

& on top of that, hashi can easily end nagato's life by using flower tree world. Once nagato falls asleep, then he gets raped by shinsuusenju, GG.

Nagato can activate any path ability he wants so wood release gets absorb. Also just as you say hashirama can easily start the battle by using bringer of darkness I can also say nagato can start off by summmoning the chameleon n hashirama would never find him. Also flower tree world is easily repel with deva path ability also
