I have read a lot of manga about samurai; i love the genre. My favorites are those that could be based in reality, you know?

My favorite would have to be Vagabond. Musashi is so badass, and so is Sasaki Kojiro, the deaf swordsmen.
Other than that, I really like Gamaran, and Shigurui is pretty good, but it can be a bit gory and graphic.

Any other suggestions for manga in this genre?

Lone Wolf and Cub, hands down is the best samurai manga.

Basically, the chief executioner of a shogunate finds his entire family, save his infant son, murdered. So he embarks on a quest of revenge killing pretty much everyone all while towing this baby around.

Samurai X. :I Samurai in the title is enough to know its about............. samurais!

He means Rurouni Kenshin. Samurai X is USA name for translated manga & OVAs, but most likely won't be listed on scan sites. So check for Kenshin. And, indeed, it is AMAZING (anime too! I have the original 12-disc dvd collection =D).

Rurouni Kenshin is a pretty good one to check out.

Although they're not manga, some other examples are Samurai 7 and Sengoku Basara.

isn't samurai x the same as rurouni kenshin?

I've seen the movie of lone wolf and cub, i'll have to check out the manga.

Samurai Champloo is awesome, Mugen is one of my favorite characters in all series.

And I do read bleach, but I don't consider that a samurai manga

Sidooh is awesome. Two kids get orphaned so they take off on a journey to become samurai. It involves a cult, betrayel, revenge, and lots of famous characters through history.

Besides the others mentioned, try Gintama.
