their is no connection as of now in the manga,only that it is one of the 4 decandant clans of his sons.

i say read the theories if u want to but don't start to consider it a fact,like some idiots here,unless it is really revealed to be true in the manga because if he is revealed someone else,then u will get dissapointed because of ur pre-concieved notion of him being an uzumaki.
pretty much like tobi=obito thing,which was only hated by people who believed in the theories of him being izuna,shisui,etc and considered it a fact.

The difference is that Sage=Uzumaki is as obvious as Tobi=Obito
