itachi was suffring due to overuse of MS..even zetsu figured something's odd with itachi since the beginning of their fight...itachi was badly in need of EMS n it was the only way for his survival... had he really wanted to kil sasuke badly he would've used susano'o from the beginning...he had alrdy lost the will to live and to win the fight...

This is partially right. He was I'll of an unknown sickness. Use of EMS does not make you sick it only make you blind. Example-Madara wasn't sick before taking Izuna's eyes.

He died from overexertion during the battle with sasuke due to his life threatening illness. Which had been getting more severe recently according to zetsu.
