it's very good but the scanlines ruined it
I like it.Good job.
You should read some tuts. o-o Sigtutorials might be a decent place to start, and of course lurking on Deviantart wouldn't hurt either. I can't say it's all that horrible for a first attempt, as I'm pretty sure my first one wasn't all that great either, but there's a ton load of room for improvement. The most basic of improvements would be learning about render placement, google rule of three if you must, then of course burning and dodging, blurring and sharpening psuedo lighting and darkening using large soft brushes with either dark or light colours set to either soft light or linear dodge. Then you've got stuff like gradient mapping, which can be easy or hard depending on the colours of your sig, then of course colour scheme itself is important, not to mention flow (basically like the direction of the sig), depth and etc etc. Also don't use effects like scanlines until you know what you're doing.
Also, no offense, but I don't understand why people are saying it's 'Impressive' or 'Good'. The only three things I can think of is either, A they're retarded, B they don't know what they're talking about, which leads me to wonder why they decided to post in the first place, which leads me to C; they're doing it just to up their post count, viewing the GFX section as nothing more than a means to spam. :sy:
Edit: Also what're you using, Photoshop or Gimp? If you're using Gimp, and you're seriously attempting to GFX, I suggest you try and get your hands on Photoshop, since IMO Gimp sucks lol. Naturally since it's the internet you can get such programs through various means. Argh! Hint hint.
1. Thanks for the feedback, but you were talking about renders, but I used a stock in this sig, cause I find it hard to use renders because I can't make decent backgrounds. Thanks for the hints.
2. I'm using Photoshop CS6. And the 'Argh' is the way I got it =D
Well it's kinda even worse if you used a stock. O__O
Also practice with renders more, get out of your comfort zone. You can generally do much more with renders as well. o-o
