My question is: Would the Totsuka blade work on inanimate, lifeless objects that don't have a mind? (E.g a rock, statue..etc.)

I am asking this because, according to Naruto Wikia and Zetsu in the manga (can't find chapter), people who are stabbed by the sword "are drawn into the jar and trapped in a genjutsu-like "world of drunken dreams" for all eternity".

I am pretty sure a rock can't be put under genjutsu. What are your thoughts?

Why would you waste your time at all for something like that?

The totsuka only work on living things. You can't put a non living thing into genjutsu you are just wasting your time and energy
