Sharingan "seeing through genjutsu" Cant the Byakugan do the same thing?

We all know that one of the Sharingan's abilities is the ability to see through visual genjutsu, but it has been mentioned that the was they see through genjutsu is by detecting whether their chakra flow is irregular or not.

But the thing is, the byakugan can do the same thing with its incredible insight into the chakra network.

It was even mentioned that it was able to see through the illusion that obito placed on the 4th mizukage

People often don't credit the byakugan with such a feat, especially against other uchihas (3-tomoe ONLY!) but if people knew about this, they would see that even genjutsu would not be useful against a byakugan user because they could just "see through it" too.

Well, the Hyuga clan got trolled in the end as they showed great promise at first but Kishimoto stopped developing them at some point and only focused on the Uchiha.

Genjutsu sends chakra into the victims body.. they use their chakra viewing capabilities to see irregularities in chakra flow.. thus knowing the person was in a genjutsu or in danzo's case.. using


Seeing through genjutsu is about being able to tell you're in one when it's cast on you... It isn't explained how, but the sharingan has this ability.. I highly doubt it has anything to do with seeing chakra, since they wouldn't be able to see their own chakra flow ...

With the creation of Amaterasu and Susano'o, Hyuga's became pointless.

And when Did Kishimoto make them the main characters? If he didn't.. then how can they be trolled?

Sharingan users can "see through genjutsu" by detecting chakra flow as you said. The byakugan can also do this though. They say that they can tell because their own chakra is disturbed. They can see it as shown right here.

Very likely, considering it's also an advanced ocular jutsu. The existence of MS/EMS abilties overshadowed the relevance of Byakugan though:erm:.

i guess..sharingan can counter genjutsu or it can see through it because..sharingan knows the mechanism of the genjutsu..and that is why,it can apply genjutsu as well..and nothing was shown in the manga..about byakugan and genjutsu..so we cant actually state anything about that

It didnt see through the genjutsu, it saw that there was chakra build up in the sharingan, that he recognised to be Shisui's. He put two and two together and worked out it was a complex genjutsu. Someone inexpetienced like Hinata may not have recognised the eye as a sharingan, let alone as shisui's

Hmm....I've been wondering that too, they can definitely see through genjutsu when it's being used on others...don't know if they can see through it when it's being used against themselves. Although Ao did say he fought Shisui Uchiha, who's main skill was a pretty powerful genjutsu...don't know I he used it in their fight though..... I think although byakugan can see through a genjutsu, I think it can't break free from it

I think it's is very likely that the byakygan can see through fenjutsu
