Women want everything to be equal, but then they have concessions to make that possible. To me, this is absurd and, honestly, makes me pretty mad.
These are the pushup requirements to join the army:
In the age group 17-21, women have to do a minimum of 19 pushups to pass. Men have to do a minimum of 42.
........
........
Is there a difference between a man who can do 19 pushups, and a woman who can do that amount? Absolutely not. But since men are naturally stronger, women have easier passing requirements. Everything is fine now, right? We're equal! Let's celebrate!
No. F*ck that mentality. All that does is create a weak link in the unit, one that could potentially endanger the lives of the other more physically fit soldiers.
Think of it like this: Men and women, by nature, have different roles. Women have to give birth and raise children, and have specialized physical features that make that possible. An example is breasts that produce milk so they can breastfeed. Men, on the other hand, are supposed to protect the mother and child. They have specialized physical characteristics that make this possible as well. An example is significantly more muscle mass and higher aerobic capacity.
If society wants to blend these roles, so everything is fair, then let's make everything fair! Since women are allowed to take the role of men, men should be able to take the role of women! Let us breastfeed! It doesn't matter that we're not able to produce milk and we're endangering the life of the child, because everything is equal now! F*ck yeah! Let's celebrate!
So what, you ask, made me go on this rant in the first place? This picture.
It amazes me this is being celebrated. It shows what appears to be a military drill, and multiple men are laying in the mud to form a bridge. A bridge to allow a woman to cross. Kill me.
Until everything is actually equal, and physical requirements are the same, women shouldn't be allowed in the military. Or more specifically, combat itself. What is your opinion?
