That explosion is chakra based & can be deflected/suppressed by a number of techniques. PS sowrd slash is a physical attack & so it isnt susceptible to deflection or suppression. It can cause more damage because it cant be blocked the way a tbb can, it cant be teleported via FTG either.

Im not saying he cant use PS without kurama if thats what youre thinking (which is retarded), im saying that EMS madara's fighting style is based on kurama, thats the only way he can compare to hashi. Edo Madara doesnt need kurama to compare to hashi, this combined with the fact that he is a smaller target than kurama makes his PS better .

Its known that those bijuudama blades can be deflected & stopped. Sword slashes cant be stopped unless you stop the actual arm from performing the attack. The slashes cause more collateral damage to the target rather than tbbs, blades or not.
