Is Team 7 devolving already!?

Seriously Sasuke has been around for one chapter and instantly all three of them seem to be falling back into old habits. The character development of the characters over the last 5 years has literally just gone back to square one and I hope it doesn't actually continue.

Naruto makes one of his comical part 1 overreaction faces when Sakura hits something? check.
Sasuke is already directly telling Naruto to stay out of his way and not to interfere? check.
Sakura is focusing on Sasuke immediately and making Naruto second best, forgiving him instantly? check.

Seriously, why is the only one actually talking any sense at all Shikamaru?

I really hope our main characters continue to grow and mature and not devolve backwards back into cheap slapstick and paper-thin rivalries. I thought we were beyond this now, especially how at the end of the show, it's becoming painfully apparent that team 7 really is the most boring team.

Kishi wanted to bring nostalgic team 7 imo; and hole rookies thing was involving nostalgia too.

But yeah; they are acting derpish and careless; they are in a battle; people are dying; they seem to forget about Nei and the others. Seriously; it hade been like 30 minutes at most; i know battlefield is not a place to cry but they can ect more matured and serious.

No, I agree with numbers on a few things...

Last chapter was degrading and rather sad in terms of their exposition. Kishimoto is trying to paint this "happy-go-lucky" atmosphere and that is not a possibility anymore.

There should be major friction and we should not be seeing their old slapstick humour returning. Freaking Kishimoto, hopefully an editor talks to him.

It's as if the kage-summit never happened. I hate when shonen mangas throw in development opportunities just to pretend things never happened. I felt no nostalgia, although seeing Naruto and Sasuke fight together gives me hope for better writing in the future

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they are going right back to the old days. I think Kishi just wanted to give us that feeling again.

I firmly maintain that there will be some sense of friction later on, or some consequences to everything that has happened.

These are not the same kids from part 1, they have been through a lot and have changed.

Nah, everybody is buzzed about Sakura being saved again. Sakura being saved again is just a symbolism of no matter how strong/powerful you have, without person behind and beside you to help you, you will find yourself in trouble. It shows 'teamwork'.
