I think they were made similar because Kishi wanted them to be able to relate to Naruto. I mean, one is his brother & the other his lover, so I think it was done on purpose, possibly. there's just way too many coincidences between those two characters to say it's nothing, especially when both are in the same series.

Dude you're seeing what you WANT to happen, but remember, Neji DID DIE FOR NARUTO, so there is no connection on that one. Sh*t everybody has almost died trying to protect Naruto, from Iruka in the very first episode to Neji. *_* Seriously Itachi and Neji love Sasuke and Hinata? Iruka loves Naruto, Naruto loves all his friends, Kakashi loves Team 7, etc. etc. If you want to tell me how a massive o-r-g-y would come from this, by all means do so, I'm actually excited to hear. =D

Number 5 isn't the same thing. Itachi is the heir and the respected one while Hinata is the heir but her sister is the respected one. If Sasuke were the heir than it would match Hinata.
