[Discussion] Anime/Manga: What Do You Look For?

What attracts you to an anime or manga series? Is it the action? The friendship? The love? The mystery? What qualities do you look for in a 'good' anime or manga? Personally, I love action, close character bonds(even romance), martial arts, and a feeling of progression with the characters. Share your thoughts!

The seires has to have an interesting start if I do not get pulled in right away then i don't bother. Also I like interesting art style something that can really wow me. Also if the series I am into are usually action/fancy so if the character's in it have interesting ability's that's great.

Also side character's have to get allot of screen time & characterization/growth.

I like both manga and anime. I like, a good plot, characters, character development, smooth story line progression, mysterious scenarios, suspense, action, and romance. A manga/anime should give the reader/watcher useful knowledge.
