The sage most likely didn't have another dojutsu before Rinnegan, so you most likely don't have to have a Sharingan evolve into the Rinnegan (unless the Sage was an Uchiha which wouldn't make sense). So Naruto might get Rinnegan - possibly for a limited time though.

It's pretty obvious the Sage was an Uzumaki, yes, but there's a difference between the Sage and Naruto. He won't get the Sharingan, but he may get the Rinnegan. Yeah I'd go with that.
