We all know that Rikudo Sennin sealed the Juubi in da moon and split his chakra into 9 separate beasts but what if the Juubi left some of its chakra and gathering energy getting bigger and bigger causing major distress in the Narutoverse but it was still weak after some many years by Madara or Obito or maybe even Nagato organized the chakra into the Gedo Mazu and they used the 9 bijuu's chakra to get more of the Juubi's chakra and eventually turned into the Juubi

The gedo mazo's body if you look closely looks like mokuton it even does mokuton. :I I believe the gedo mazo is a mindless vessel by the juubi to appear physically, If the juubi is all the tailed bijuus combined then it cant have a body really its chakra, nothing more than chakra, and you might say oh well kyuubi have shown to have bones, the kyuubi have bones because it was made so by the sage of six paths via yIN imagining it have bones a physical form

and yang for it to come true. It dont add to the juubi

Nah, I think Gedo Mazu is more like a state of the Juubi's body when nearly all of its chakra is stolen. Like what happened to Kurama when he lost the chakra tug o' war with Naruto.

Kurama's body is extremely thin and weak looking... So, yeah. That's probably why the Gedo looks the way it does, if it is the Juubi's final form. Lack of Chakra.
