Did Itachi know Tobi's identity in the Akatsuki?

Bottome left panel is interesting. Wouldn't "madara" (obito) know about the massacre? It's my understanding that "madara"(obito) helped itachi do the massacre. just wondering if thats a possible plot hole

It is! But what Itachi meant was how madara found out that Itachi WAS BEING MANIUPLATED* By the elders, remember the whole thing was to help madara get revenge on the clan with Itachi helping and dont lay a hand on konoha and dont harm sasuke, it did'nt include Itachi telling madara about the elders, The flashback Itachi has before going away with the release of edo tensei explains it alot.

What he means is 'God damn Madara for telling Sasuke the truth,' and 'So you [Naruto] did know the truth'.

Also, there is no evidence that Itachi knew Tobi's identity, nor Orochimaru (although its not a part of this thread). Honestly though, if they didn't die or get sealed at the Uchiha Hideout Battle, then they would most likely know his identity because they are more intelligent and better at gaining intel like this than Kabuto is; and he was the only character to work out that Tobi was not Madara.
