Before I thought of making this thread I was thinking on making points on how Hinata's a flawless character (AKA Mary Sue). But while thinking I realized Hinata has not shown a need to be loved back by Naruto.

I'm not real sure of what she said in Japanese when she confessed but I know that Hinata accepts this one-sided love. But in true nature it seems Hinata is too sweet to force Naruto to like her the same way she does. So this means that Hinata doesn't "want" the same affection from Naruto. Does this mean Hinata only cares for Naruto? I doubt that. This maybe offensive to some of you but I think Hinata just loves Naruto as it is.

She might not have a need for it but she does want it. I mean why wouldn't she want an answer, if she gets friendzoned though she would just be happy he is happy.

If she wanted an answer then why didn't she ask him?

It seems like you already know the answer but simply want to argue about it in order to go against it or don't want to accept it.

Hinata is far from being perfect Mary Sue, she fits in the standards of some males because of she is being too shy, only living for her man, boobs etc.
On the topic, she would be happy to be with Naruto, but she would not force anything, but she would watch over him behind the shadows like in old days.

I agree with you on a few things. Hinata is a bad character, no doubt about it. That, and she has been stalking him since they were little. That ain't cute, it's creepy!

That's no different than taking the few times Sakura is shown hitting Naruto in the manga and saying that all Sakura does is beat the shit out of Naruto.

Hinata has been shown watching Naruto train only a couple times in the manga - and in at least one of those instances, it's implied that she intended to approach him but was too nervous and side-lined herself.

And like you sort of pointed out, she is selfless in some ways. As long as Naruto is happy, she would be glad. A bit sad inside, but glad.

While generally true... I think we've seen that Hinata is more than willing and capable to set her own goals and work for them.

Unfortunetly, for me atleast, Hinata and Naruto will most likely become the ending paring. I dislike it because I can't get behind Hinata's character... That, and I think the way she was drawn is.. I don't know, her character both physically and personality wise doesn't appeal to me.

It's okay. That's one less person I have to worry about targetting the Hinata-esque girls of the world.

But her whole point of being is a character is to get Naruto's love. That's.. Literally her character. If she didn't, she would be Tenten.

Remember Neji's talk of 'destiny'... and how he recently fulfilled his destiny to die protecting Hinata?

*sigh*... I'm going to have to bind this link as a keyboard macro...

Inside every shy girl is all of the things she doesn't say. It's very gratifying to know that you are trusted enough to see what no one else on the planet sees in a person. It's even more gratifying when she trusts you enough to confront you - to know that she sees, understands, and has faith that you will appreciate her.

The notion that guys like shy girls because they can walk over them is just silly. Shy girls tend to be passive-aggressive, rather than just allow you to walk over them. Most of the guys that do try to walk over them are too stupid to realize that the bad things that end up befalling them have an origin in that shy girl they just tried to steamroll. Subversion is the name of the game. Kind of like a cat - if they don't like you, you won't see them... you'll only find shredded furniture and feces in your shoe.

On the other hand - I've seen a lot of "vocal and strong" girls who are easy to push over. They yell, scream, raise hell when the guy comes in drunk or knocks up some teenager... but they never change the situation. They stick to the guy they tell the world is a piece of shit - and that's it.

The girls who keep to themselves are usually wise enough to notice the trend and just not bother with trying to appeal to douchebags.

On the topic, she would be happy to be with Naruto, but she would not force anything, but she would watch over him behind the shadows like in old days.

No, that's not what she would do.

"I'll be walking beside you, holding your hand."

That's not watching over from the shadows. That's playing an active, dynamic, and supportive role.

Not to mention - the "from the shadows" stygma is exactly what she has broken out of since about 610.

There's an Uzumaki destined to be the next Sage. It's only natural he have a Hyuuga companion at his side to help him re-seal the Juubi. Just as destiny intended.
