Why Are There So Many Guests That Don't Become Members in NB?

As title says, i always see a total amount of guests that easily are 5 times more than the actual members. Why is that? Don't they have their own ideas and questions to contribute?

It could perhaps be laziness as mentioned above, i didn't bother log in for almost a year but just surfed around on the base reading theories and other threads. But i also think it might be those bots from google that checks almost every site, i don't know exactly how they work, but i've seen them on other websites that I have been a part of.
