Why Sakura's speech in Chapter 630 can be considered one of the most impactful.

That's anime only, kishi has nothing to do with it. This thread isn't about Hinata why can there not be a proper discussion about Sakura without her in it?
you are the one who asked me to say when has hinata used healing. but regardless of that, her Doujutsu already makes her superior. forgetting that though i already said i think that sakura should have been by tsunades side. she should have made herself more useful and more relevent. i have hardly seen anything simg Granny Chiyo. its taken her so long just come with a few lines and thats only because sasuke and possibly tsunade are going to return.

Both Hinata and Ino have surpassed Sakura already. yet Sakura is of the Original Team 7.

as i said earlier, i am NOT against Sakura either. Kishi just needs to develop her. her soeech was nice but why the long wait for it. and now minato is back i doubt she will be soeaking again

come on.

Another point i want to make...

Sakura is a ninja of her own skills... Yes, she may not be a part of a well-known clan, but she is a good ninja the way she is now.
Just like hinata who has always been striving to get stronger... just like ino who is now playing a larger role in the alliance...

sakura is a medic that's why she is nowhere near close serious combat...
ino is a telepath of some sort...her skill are of great use in the battlefield...
and hinata has the byakugan which she uses as greatly as she can for the alliance's gain ...

Plz tell when you stop jerking to Sakura....if it wasnt for hinata Sakura would be dead since naruto would have given up and wouldn't have saved sakura
Correction: If it wasn't for Sakura's medical skills, Hinata would have died during the Pein Arc.

sakura gave a speech to two fodders telling them that naruto considers them their comrades, and that they both need to fight to death while she heals naruto.
-
and this speech is greater than the one that Shikiku gave to choji giving them the intel to change the battle? or the speech hinata delivered stopping Naruto from turning into Darth Naruto? becuase surely convincing two unnamed fodders is supirior than changing the flow of the entire war.
-
i will agree that her speech was good but to say that her speech is more important then the above is rude and disrespectful.
Clearly, you didn't take time to take in everything Chatte wrote. Chatte stated, "...one of the most impactful speeches in Naruto Manga's history." That doesn't mean the speech topped all other Naruto speech given.
By the way, Sakura clearly spoke to everyone in the battlefield so I suggest you take a look at Chapter 630 again. Even Shikamaru looked impressed with how well Sakura spoke to everyone, it even got him going.

OT: I read it all. Wonderful work Chatte. I'm so impressed and proud to know there's a true fan such as yourself. To every basher/hater out there is mindless and clearly aren't thinking things through to dislike such a character. I'm impressed with how well you've observed Sakura through out the series, even saw your journal entries on dA. Good for you!

To everyone else, quit comparing Sakura and Hinata. The two shinobis are strong and beautiful in their own way. For all Hinata/NaruHina fans, Sakura is Heroine no matter what you people convince yourselves.
The story plot is in Kishimoto's hands and Sakura is the exact heroine he wants. Like Chatte said, "Sakura represents a Shinobi in it's true form. A human with feelings, that is going to express them no matter what, however, when the time needs it, she will be this pride Shinobi who will die with her head held high, if necessary."
It matters not if Sakura is not God-like powerful as Naruto and Sasuke because her true purpose and role helps round the story to what Kishi is trying to get across.
Sakura came from a normal family but has gotten so far to be where she is and that is the biggest development there is, in my opinion. She worked hard through the years and this is why I always admired her character. She isn't like Ino or Hinata who come from clans that have special techniques/abilities or kekkei genkai to focus on getting stronger. Sakura had to find her own strength and train for it, thus gaining her ability to mold/manipulate chakra to use for combat or healing.

So to those who acknowledge, good for you!

Correction : There was no need for Sakura to save to save Hinata at the pain arc at all. Pain would have revived her after all. One of the reasons Sakura was allowed to save her was probably to make Sakura seem useful but all the while her action was unnecessary.

Actually she was and is pretty close to Tsunade, if she had attached herself to Tsunade like completely we would have seen nothing of her. Tsunade had like one major fight in shippuden. And its taken her so long? It's just that time in the plot for team 7 reunion. Also she can't make herself do anything. Kishi is there for that

Surpassed Sakura? I didn't know she trained them, Ino specializes in her clans jutsu and is relevant to ino.shika.cho. Her dad is presumed dead and this development is to show off her taking his position and stepping up when hes not there.

How come all of a sudden people started saying Hinata is better than and can beat Sakura, we've seen like how much of Hinata in fighting situations? Sure the matchup seems bad in theory but so does most.

Everything has it's time and place in the plot, there is a thing called order. If you are in support of her character getting needed development, stop putting her down to bring up others.

Great thread :D !

I too like Sakura alot as a character and I also get annoyed with all the hate she receives, your breakdown on her speech was very good and even reminded me of a few things that I myself forgot. I don't see why people keep bringing up hinata in this thread though, because she has nothing to do with it at all lol. I'm glad someone took the time to make this because her speech was definitely not getting the recognition it deserved.

I'm a little conflicted....not much by what you said as much as to whom it was impactful.

I personally felt it was very impactful for her character as it shows she went from fangirl to shinobi over the course I'd the series;however, I don't feel as if it truly was as inspirational to a moral boost as you have claimed. By this point in time, pretty much what's left of the shinobi world was trying to fight a common enemy, and they were doing everything they could already.

I think the best view of that is when the Alliance arrives with that Badass Stance Entry. They showed that despite their tired state, they were going to give it everything they had.

Though I guess the biggest impact it would have would be an attempt to tell everyone that they aren't Fodder (as she told that guy that it isn't Naruto protecting shinobi like us AKA: Fodder, but instead that Naruto was protecting them as his comrades regardless of their strength. After that, they should die heads up doing everything they can).

I guess I just don't understand how at this point the alliance shinobi could have not gotten this concept lol!

Anyways great thread Chatte! I haven't really checked many reviews, but if people honestly ignored it....FAIL on their part xd!

if you want to play that game, sakura saved hinata's life mind you during the pein arc. that girl was as good as dead if it wasnt for sakura healing her. oh and the times she healed naruto?? a possibility of naruhina only exists because sakura has saved both their lives at some point so id say shes pretty damn important on just that aspect.

alot of people dont read or even can begin to understand the overall depth of kishi's manga. i dont read naruto because it is cool or we have OP ninja i wish i could be or something silly like that. This manga is deep with its material on bonds and how the world truly works and what drives the cycle of hate. people say they get that but 99% of the posts on this base shows that very few truly understand the meaning of the manga and the message kishi is trying to get us to notice.

Im sorry, i know all hinata fans will disagree because shes like God or something, but shes just a side character and her speech literally foreshadowed the "more powerful" speech given by the heroine. No one can deny hinata is an important side character, just like shikamaru or iruka but shes not the most important character or heroine of the series.

This was a great thread and it really highlights sakura's feats well and ties together things in the manga i hadnt thought about myself. brilliant as always on tying things together and not subjecting either awesome character into a stupid pairing war (especially when both girls roles are so much better than whose gonna bang naruto) If your a hinata fan or a sakura basher and you cannot respond with a halfway mature answer or prove the thread wrong with manga evidence....THEN DONT POST OR LOOK AT IT.

I couldn't agree more about the bias of most reviewers. I have never been a defender of Sakura at all but I am not a Sakura basher. I like all of the characters in naruto some more than others but to me that is no reason to hate anyone more than the other. And if I had to pick one that I really hated it would be Madara but not because I don't like his character but because he seems way too overpowered as an edo. Hell he might be that overpowered alive as well especially with Rinnegan. But back on point Sakura is a main character whether people want to realize it or not she is always going to be a major part of the story same as Naruto and Sasuke.

I can rememebr going months without any chapter with Naruto in it or the same for Sasuke. Sakura is going to have her moment just like the rest of the K11 in this war.

Once again it was absolutely unnecessary for Sakura to save anyone's life during Pain arc as Pain would have saved them anyway. It was like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey to make what Sakura was doing seem important but which was ultimately unnecessary.

true everyone was brought back, but that was because minato saved naruto from destroying everything including pein and if he wouldnt have stepped in, no talk would have happened and hinata, shizune, kakashi and all others would still be toast.

that tiny tiny little part though of this whole manga doesnt even compare to the stuff sakura has done behind the scenes. her character, along with most in kishi's story are complex characters modeled after real human behavior and her feats are just as notable as any other feat of a characters, but of course all these feats by characters have different forms of relevance to the plot. I know you didnt personally bash her, but im going to always defend her character because in my opinion its meaningless bashing and hatred for a character just because they are afraid she will take naruto from hinata

unnecessary? yes everyone ended up being brought back, but i wouldnt call her efforts unnecessary...more like common sense considering shes not psychic and could predict what pein would do. If pein wouldnt have decided to go good and revive everyone then hinata would still have died (either from her injuries or from the kyubi attack that would have destroyed everything). and no one better say sakura sat there and did nothing, like i said shes not psychic, doesnt have the byakugan, and she listened to naruto and trusted him unlike hinata...who even admits herself her actions were selfish!

The two character I hate the most in this manga are Sasuke and Sakura. I probably like Jiraiya the most but did I talk about who I liked or not? Why are you assuming stuffs. Anyway if Hinata did not intervene Naruto would have been captured so Minato could not have come forth at all so everything goes back to Hinata but lets give credit to where it belongs and not what sequence of event led there. It was Naruto who convinced Pain to bring back everybody. Rightfully it should have been Naruto who saved Hinata in that way without the intervention of Suckura. I have another theory on why the author felt the need to save Hinata before the Pain sacrifice but I will start a thread about that sometimes later if somebody's ego hurt would not ban me before that.

How the events could have unfolded does not matter only how it turned out to be matters. So Sakura 'healing' Hinata does not matter and it was indeed an useless act as Pain would have saved her anyway. Yes Sakura did not know about it and she should have tried healing her anyway as she could not have forseen what would happen. Thats why the donkey reference. She thought she was doing something important but ultimately it turned out to be an useless act.

And it does not matter if somebody has told you not to help them but if they are really in need would you just keep quite. Remember those who does not care for their friend are worse than trash. There was a Byakugan user at Sakura's side. She could logically have known everything about the battle. Hinata only intervened when Naruto was DEFINITELY DEFEATED - not before it. So she did care for Naruto's feelings and did not butt in when he was getting manhandled but only intervened when she saw Naruto was soundly defeated. If your friend was dying from blood loss and he or she tells you not to help, what would you do? Go away or try to stop the blood flow? The Naruto told not to help excuse is crap and should rightfully be called out.

I like Sakura's speech and stuff and to some extent it made an impact, but personally I think it didn't make that MUCH of an impact, you know? Regardless of the speech being there, I still think they still would've tried and fought and maybe Sakura's speech gave it a bit of a boost, but probably not much

There are some facts which Kishimoto himself had said about Hinata and Sakura.

Hinata:Despite not being the main heroine of the series, Kishimoto stated that at the time of a 2010 interview of his, Hinata would make a better heroine than Sakura due to the fact that Hinata has a more complex background as opposed to Sakura, who Kishimoto described as having a "normal" background.

Sakura:Although Sakura is the most recurring female character in Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto did not originally intend for Sakura to be the heroine of the series, even stating on occasion that he still has a hard time viewing her as a heroine. Kishimoto attributes this to him being unable to draw good heroine characters, and fashioned Sakura as a girl who cannot understand men, the best example of a heroine he could come up with. Sakura's creation is a result of Kishimoto's desire to make a somewhat irritating character who was well-intentioned. Despite these elements, Kishimoto grew fond of Sakura, feeling that many of her personality traits are common among all people, thus giving her a sense of real humanity.

Now my personnal opinion: Sakura is definetely not a useless ninja. She just doesn't go with what most people have in mind when they think of the word heroine. As you said and as Kishimoto himself said Sakura's main personality's trai is her sense of real humanity. Therefore, she doesn't have the characteristics which will make her to differ because of her being unusual. However, to what Kishimoto tries to emphasize is exactly that simplicity that is a very usual trai among humanity. Because of that, she contributes by showing how simple people can develop. Kishimto did give her abilities such monstrous power and medical skills but the fact is that the medical skills is the most appropriate skill for her since it symbolises her need to help other people and how she, by being simple, she does it. Therefore, I overall I agree with you.

However, what I didn't like about your text is how at some points you became obsessive with her to the point of swearing up to a point those who don't respect her and also by rewriting what it was wirtten in some of the panels. In my point of view that was just waste of time. There wasn't any need to point it out every now and then.

In my opinion the problem with sakura's charqcter is not that she does't have an important role, but the fact that she doesn't have enough screen time. She sure had her moments but not enough moments to say that she is a main character or even more important than most of the konoha 11

I'll tell you why no one likes Sakura:

1. She loves a guy who doesn't care about her, only because he looks cool.

2. For a long time, she had no consideration for Naruto, in fact even despised him when he was clearly a better shinobi. She didn't give a fück about his feelings for her when Sasuke was doing exactly the same thing to her. When a character shuns the main hero, it's only normal that fans will end up hating that character.

3. She cries all the time, unlike other females (Tsunade, Hinata, Temari...) who have more balls than most male characters in the series.

4. In almost all the fights she gets into, she turns out to be useless and steps aside as a spectator (against Zabuza, during the Chuunin survival exam, against Gaara, when Naruto met Orochimaru/Sasuke again in Shippuden, when Sasuke killed Danzo...) In fact the only battle she ever truly fought was against Sasori, and most of the work was being done by Chiyo.

5. She's just boring, doesn't really have that much personality. Who is Sakura, exactly? We don't know about her family, don't know her views about the war and other topics... all we know is that she's desperate for a guy who didn't like her, that she has a hot temper and that she's a medical ninja. Of course there's plenty more details but that's really the essential.

You can only blame Kishimoto, because frankly he sucks at writing proper female characters. Even Tsunade and Hinata are, in the end, supportive characters. There's not a single female Uchiha besides Sasuke's mother, there's not a single female among the top 10 strongest characters... really it's the old fashioned type of story where females are there to make sandwiches and cry when they are not happy. It really surprised me that Hinata had the courage to stand against Pain, but there's no way you'll see Sakura do something like that.

This thread is full of haters...this wasn't made for character bashing, but for serious statements that some people support. If you don't like what was said here, go elsewhere and bash everyone as long as you like. I personally enjoyed reading this thread, as it has many information on some characters' developing. Of course, when a thread of sakura appears, haters begin to pop up, too, one after another.
Oh, another thing. Think before you act. Many of you who replied here didn't even read the thread, so..shut up, people!

As for chatte, congrats, I like your points! :win:
