The main point here is that they didn't wish to do this either, but did so anyway to show them what it's like on their end. It's still a pretty off-hand way of responding to this sort of thing, though.

Not just Atheists, think of every religion. If you were an Atheist, a Jew, a Buddhist, etc., why would you want a Christian book at every single hotel, motel, cabin, place of stay, etc.? If an establishment like this puts "donated" books inside their rooms, every religion ought to have the right to place theirs.
