I had friends that did this. They said the important thing is to show no fear at the beginning and to try to make your presence not felt. They really try to break those with too much confidence or those with not enough

Thank you. I'll be fine though. Just gotta condition my body and prepare myself for the hell I'll be experiencing.

I'm wanting to join the Navy so I know how you feel with getting into major shape Lol. Good luck though man.

I get what you're saying. However, I will be confident going in, but I won't be overly optimistic or foolish. I won't allow the Drill Instructors to break me, being that I'm well aware that they will just be doing their jobs. Plus, my Recruiter has already briefed me on how to perform once in Boot Camp. Thanks for the advice anyway.

You have loads of time to prepare because you haven't even taken the Oath of Enlistment yet and is not a Poolee. I suggest you look for a better route to take. Living your ideal civilian life should be your plan A--assuming that joining the Navy isn't. I joined the military because it was my best option. Before you sign any papers, look for any paths that would lead you to the future of your liking.

Thanks, sir.
You're active duty? Are you on base or what?
Sorry. National Security.

Kidding.

I'm on the Oceania Air Base in Virginia Beach.

You should of joined the Navy. We are the only military branch that gets paid even on vacation.

They see 800 of you kids every month. Don't expect to be the exception to the system; it's supposed to be a life changing experience. And if you're going to San Diego - you'll certainly get it (Paris Island gets babied quite a bit by comparison ... they don't think they are... but they don't have 65 degree slopes they are 'hiking' 8 miles through with full packs).

I saw how I changed after going through Navy boot; and saw how my younger brother changed after going through Marine boot. There are things about a person that they can never change (and wouldn't try to) - but they certainly have a way of inspiring people to undergo some radical change/growth.

There is just one piece of advice. You'll see a lot of "My Kill Hat was more vicious than yours" in the six months to a year after boot. Don't get caught up in that type of nonsense. Your Staff Sergeant will quickly render anything your kill had did irrelevant.

Oh. Vacation? I won't need such a thing. I plan to simply work, work, amd work some more. It's gonna be boredom galore, but I will achieve a lot. The Navy is respectable though, especially the Seals.
I am in Pakistan navy since 1 year

Nice, man. Glad to see fellow military folks.

+ respect.

No matter how hard your boot camp training is....do NOT quit no matter what.

And I highly advise that you eat bananas every other day to avoid shin splints. <---- If you get those...you won't be able to run.

Sorry to correct you, sir, but you mistake me for a fool. As I've said before, I know that I will experience hell. I do not think that I will graduate with flying colors or whatnot.
Yes; I will be going to San Diego. I'm glad to hear that it's tougher than Parris Island. Do you think that is because females go to PI only that it's easier? No disrespect to women or anything, but that's likely the case.
I cannot wait to transform. I'm a decent person as of now, yet I will be a person worthy of praise and admiration once I graduate from boot.
By the way, what the heck is "Kill Hat"?

@Strata Spartan I won't give up because I strive to be a badass like my role model.
What exactly do bananas contain that they prevent shin splits? Plus, you don't know if San Diego will provide the other recruits and I with 'em. I heard that we won't be fed much anyway. That's gonna suck; I love food. :/

He doesn't mean any disrespect. He's just giving you the Coors Light Cold Hard Facts. Don't take it the wrong way.

Ehh? I know that, man. If I sounded as if I was being a brat in that post, then sorry about that. That wasn't my intention.

Oh yeah. Good thing about being away for 13 weeks and being away from the internet is that when I get my 10-day leave, I will be able to read 10+ new Naruto chapters back to back.

Believe me, I have given this a lot of pain staking thought. I have two options I can see being good for me and the Navy seems to be coming out on top.

I saw you're just gonna work and work and work when you're fully into it, once you retire after I am guessing all the promotions you should get from merits, you're life will be comfy enough.

Haha! I'm sure it was. I'm so looking forward to that. It's gonna be one of the rewards of enduring boot camp.

Alright, man. Just making sure. I'd hate to see someone join the military and hate it, especially when he/she had better options.
Hell yeah. I'm gonna become reach somewhat high because I know that I will make a fine Marine. Plus, once I achieve a four-year degree, I will automatically be promoted to an officer. Well, I shouldn't be thinking that far ahead just yet. LOL. Gotta worry about boot camp first.
What are your goals? (I won't reply until later tonight because I'm getting ready for my shift at crappy McDonald's)
