Konnichiwa, guys! :hi:
One of the greatest theories that I’ve read at NB is, obviously, the theory “SOSP is Uzumaki”. In this thread, however, I won’t discuss about the accuracy of the theory. I want to clear some doubts that people have about the title of Rikudou Sennin and to give you proof that title of Rikudou Sennin 六道仙人 can't prove that he is Uzumaki.

Rikudou Sennin first appeared in manga chapter 373 (Shitei Jidai!). Now, please, look at this picture:

In the red box you can see the title of Rikudou Sennin. His name is written in kanji 六道仙人, but next to the kanji you can also see his name written in hiragana りくどうせんにん.

!Read before you continue! Before we continue you should know that almost all Japanese sentences contain both kanji and hiragana, while some additionally use katakana. Why? One kanji can have many different meanings. Because of that Japanese use hiragana next to kanji to point out only one meaning used in particular sentence.

As we’ve already seen title of Rikudou Sennin is 六道仙人, written in hiragana like this りくどうせんにん. Now I will type word (六道 - rikudou) in Japanese online dictionary. This is the result:

As you can see we have a problem. Rikudou -kanji 六道- in the meaning ''the six realms'' is written diferent in Hiragana. While our word Rikudou is written in hiragana like this くどう , Rikudou in the meaning ''the six realms'' is written like this くどう. The difference is in first sign - . Sign is pronuounced Ro (くどう- Rokudou) while sign is pronounced Ri (りくどう- Rikudou).
Because of this I'll type word rikudou written in hiragana like this りくどう. This is the result:

The word Rikudo, kanji 六道 and hiragana りくどう, in the dictionary is recognized as name of family or surname.

Again I will type word (仙人) in Japanese online dictionary. And this is the result:

We have match here, guys! Dictionary recognized word Sannin, kanji 仙人 and hiragana せんにん, as common word meaning immortal mountain wizard (in Taoism) or mountain man (a hermit) or one not bound by earthly desires or the thoughts of normal men.

NOTE! If you can't see the results very well in these pictures you can try to type in online dictionary words RIKUDOU and SENNIN and see the results.

So, according to the translation, word Rikudou (りくどう) can only be name of the Family or Surname of a person.
Also, word Sennin is translated as wizard, hermit, and Sennin is a common Japanese character name translated as hermit, sage, etc. (Eg Ikkaku Sennin (一角仙人 "One-horned Immortal")). This means that word Sennin shouldn’t be translated, but it should stay in original Sennin.

According to this, Rikudou is probably Surname of our SOSP while Sennin is his character name.

NOTE! Some of the better scanlation groups didn’t translate Rikudou Sennin, but they kept original!

If you want to know why Rikudou Sennin is translated as Sage of Six Paths click below.
If you look at kanji details of word Rikudou you’ll see that六 means six, 道 can mean: course, district, journey, moral, road-way, street , teachings, while kanji details for word Sennin show you that 仙 can mean cent, hermit, wizard and 人 means person. This leads us here:
SIX + ROAD WAY (SYNONYM PATH) + WIZARD PERSON (SYNONYM SAGE)

Thanks for reading!

If this is shared with Taoism, Taoism's symbol is the same symbol of the Hyuga clan.

According to this, Rikudou is probably Surname of our SOSP while Sennin is his character name.

I'm pretty sure all translations and canon material refer to Rikudou Sennin in context of "Six Paths" and "Sage" as his title and not as his name and surname.

I have to say that I'm not sure of that. It is true that 仙人 (Sennin) is a word translated as an immortal mountain wizard (in Taoism), but I can't say that Taoism's symbol is the same symbol of the Hyuga clan. I only give facts here and I don't want to speculate.
Damn you thought this out, great theory.
Thank you!:)

''According to this, Rikudou is probably Surname of our SOSP while Sennin is his character name.'' Can you give me another meaning of word Rikudou, kanji 六道 and hiragana りくどう? I'm pretty sure all translations and canon material refer to Rikudou Sennin in context of "Six Paths" and "Sage" as his title... Can you give me proof for saying that?

Thank you, glad you like it! :)

Rikudou sennin has two meanings as you mentioned at the bottom. It can be iterated either way, but nice effort

This is a well thought out thread but the premise is illogical. Rikudou Sennin is a title; "Sage of the Six Paths". Rikudou is roughly "Six Paths" While Sennin is obviously Sage (As it has been stated in the manga countless time). This is a good thread but it doesn't disprove the Sage being an Uzumaki at all.

You forget that it hasn't actually been proven that he was an Uzimaki. No matter how good a theory is, it is still not true until proven by the manga.

Great effort, I like your theory . It's a better ''Theory Thread'' than this member I know who everyone overrates .

Take for example my name Ksenija. It is a Greek name meaning hospitality, but yet people don't call me Hospitality but Ksenija. Rikudou Sennin has meaning Sage of Six Paths, but it is translation of Japanese name.

Title 六道仙人 is pronounced Rikudou Sennin and translation of this is 六道仙人 is Sage of six paths.
