Hiruzen wasn't about to do a damn thing, he was overwhelmed and fell to his knee, hence the "Third!!!" response from the shinobi next to him (He was concerned for Hiruzen).

And Tobirama killed Madara's brother, who was close to him in strength. Seeing as only Hashirama could defeat Madara, that gives Tobirama some props. That's my point, if you still don't understand I can try and simplify an already simple point for you.

I'm highly certain that was not the third using a jutsu...that was him collapsing from being fatigued.

For your information, that sound effect next to Hiruzen ''Slump'' means: To fall or sink heavily; collapse.

No doubt Hiruzen was strong. But don't twist a Manga page to make Hiruzen seem like he could've handled that TBB.

The entire reason Minato used the Summoning Technique was to hold it down and teleport it away. If Hiruzen could've handled that, Minato wouldn't have had any reason to intervene.

Though there is no doubt in my mind Hiruzen will show more of himself as an edo.

I honestly can't give a detailed answer due to how little we know, but I'd say flooding the battlefield and ftg would make it hard for the third to get a foot hold, but I really don't know what crazy OP water jutsu the 2nd has if any, but the 2nd is also a good sensor, I honestly think he takes it.
