Of course with the 2nd being an amazing sensor, Karin, being a sensor, and the 4th, there is no way they wouldn't notice 5 kages on the brink of death. Minato was sent ahead to help the shinobi force while Taka and the 1st Healed the Kages, Karin's ability to heal, and the 1sts.



This is the reasoning behind why Minato was first there, he was sent ahead.

Being a S/T user he still needs his Kunais with the seal. You can see it was throwen there by himself, not like anyone expected him to come and randomly threw it into the battlefield. Id assume the hokages will arrive at the next chapter, Minato just needed his grand entrance.

I believe The 1st and the 2nd went to find the Hokages and the 3rd and the rest sent the 4th ahead because one of them sensed the Tailed Beast Bomb. So yeah I agree with OP, but don't think there's a real need for more than the 1st and 2nd to investigate the Hokage battleground.

There's no way that Sasuke, the 2nd and 3rd are going anywhere but the battlefield. Maybe the 1st. Minato obviously had a seal somewhere on the battlefield, perhaps on Bee......we still don't know how the 2nds FTG works.....he may take longer to get there than Minato.

Tsunade already said she was going to save the Kages though, she summoned Katsuya or whatever it's name is and everything so she can save the other Kages. I doubt the Edo Kages will go to a place where Tsunade already saved them, I don't know. Katsuya even said it can put Tsunade back together, so everyone there is probably fine...or at least mostly everyone. I don't think Tobirama will allow them to stop for no reason when he wants to go rape Madara.
