Okay, lets say he DOES show off new techniques we haven't seen before. But that begs the question, why didn't he use these techniques against Obito and/or Kurama? I hate little inconsistencies like this.

I know that it's hypothetical, but what if he just uses his same techniques? Plus it wouldn't be cheap for him to use new techniques since he was shown fighting like twice haha

Or are you forgetting Obito had Kamui? And Minato was aware of that?

Why would Minato waste chakra on other Jutsu's when he knows it'll just phase through Obito? His plan was to use FTG and Rasengan afterwards, which worked. Why would he use any other Jutsu if that is enough to win?

In the Nine-Tails case, his plan was to use RDS, and seal the rest into Naruto. Considering the current situation, that was a great decision. I'm not seeing how other Jutsu's really would've helped him there either.
