With this latest chapter, I think it's obvious minato could solo the ten tails. The ten tails took a super duper attack form and launched a mega powerful kameha... I mean bijuudama. Minato teleported it with ease. Before you say 'well he was edo.' guess what, edo doesn't give infinite chakra at one time, you still can only have as much in your body while you are alive. the world of the dead merely fills your body up after you use it. so minato could have done this while he was alive.
if minato continued to redirect attacks at the ten tails he might even defeat it alone. this is the reality of power-ups in naruto. I think before this chapter most people would have laughed at the idea of minato teleporting one of the most powerful attacks we've seen from the juubi so far. but he did it. he might even be able to seal it somehow.
Now I wonder about other characters. Could dust release destroy the juubi? could itachi 1-shot the juubi with totsuka blade and tank hits with Yata? Kamui apparently works, does Koto? The juubi was supposed to be godly but it was just HUMILIATED by one guy. I always assumed the juubis skills were above these kinds of gimp moves but I guess not.

) amount of energy would take a ton of time which itachi's stamina can't afford, if it's even conceptually possible. and if minato had to split the kyuubi into two to seal it imagine what the juubi will require, the sage must have been a mix of nagato and hashirama times ten.
