Yes i agree i has no problem with izanagi and was excited to see izanami until itachi explained it. Reading it again you can just hear the BS kishi was pulling out of his ass.

It's true that it seems overly complicated, which gives the feeling as though it's just BS. Anyways, this was my interpretation of it.

Contrary to popular belief that Izanami needs contact, the two scans above says otherwise. Remember, physical contact and physical senses are different. Note, "Grab an action", I repeat, an action. This means any action they are performing atm; ducking, walking, etc etc. Then as it says, record it with your eyes. The user is just picking an action from the opponent, and then records it.
Why would Itachi need to 'touch' him to record their physical senses? All it's doing is recording their physical senses at the time. The body's physical sense is basically always being realized. The touch of wind, the feel of the fingers when balled into a fist, the feel of the earth beneath our feet etc.
lol I'm probably just making this more complicated. But to sum up the above, the izanami records physical senses with the eyes.
Then it 'uses it powers' to recreate those senses. This technique is actually really OP.
By asspull, people tend to mean that the powers it has it specifically made to help them out with one specific scenario... And overall doesn't have too large a practical use.
IZanagi seemed like a rare jutsu, The Uchiha clan needed Senju DNA to perform it. . . I really doubt it was that over used of a move to warrent Izanami to be created. And, who exactly is abusing Izanagi? You use it once and you go blind... I think not a lot of people would over use this. .
Again, it was rumored to be around and a coming Sharingan ability (What people thought Obito's Kamui was called, I recall). But how it functions itself is. . Unbelievably dumb and pure BS. Its history makes little sense and Itachi had this jutsu that just oh so happened to be Kabuto's Achilles Heel.
